CAN A CUSTOM WEBSITE BE BUILT IN A DAY?

If you're a client of Matchstick Studio, the answer is yes. More than likely, we can build a custom website for you in a single workday. In fact, we've done it for several businesses already, including authors, lawyers, and regional restaurant chains. Is this unheard of anywhere else? Also yes.

You may be wondering how this is possible and if these are really custom sites or just templates that have been customized? When it comes to our websites, we can assure you they have been written, designed, and hand-coded by our in-house team. When we see other agencies selling custom sites, and all they're doing is formatting a WordPress template (and charging exorbitant amounts of money for the free or low-cost template they're using), that feels like trickery to us. We don't like it, and neither should you.

WHY ARE CUSTOM SITES BETTER THAN TEMPLATES?

This is a common question, especially since many websites today are built with a ‘template-oriented' content management system (CMS). The most popular of these is WordPress, which started as an open-source blogging tool. Others include Wix, Weebly, Squarespace, and even GoDaddy. While these DIY templates can be tempting, they do have their downsides. A few worth noting:

  1. Your site will probably look like everyone else's, and it may not look professional.
  2. You'll be limited in the navigation and functionality of your site.
  3. You'll lose out on search engine optimization (SEO).
  4. Your site will more than likely run slow because of multiple plug-ins.
  5. Your site may not be secure or mobile-friendly.
  6. You'll be vulnerable to hackers who find platforms like WordPress especially tempting because they can hack thousands of sites at once - including yours.

On a positive note, let's talk about custom-built sites. These are generated from scratch, meaning they're coded to suit whatever a business needs. Going this route provides many benefits. In fact, our custom sites solve for every item on the list above.

They're unique to each company with regard to navigation, content, and design. They offer the flexibility to grow with a business. They're optimized, which offers a better chance to rank higher in Google search results. And, they're super-fast, mobile-friendly, highly secure, and less likely to draw the attention of hackers.

The only rub (for most digital firms) is the time it takes to build a custom site, which can lead to a high cost. We've actually solved that, too.

INTRODUCING MODULAR ORANGE

Modular Orange is a one-of-a-kind website development tool that our team at Matchstick Studio has custom-coded. Years in the making, this framework enables us to build sites quickly and at an affordable monthly price.

It's kind of like a coffee shop. We've stocked our shelves with locally grown, high-quality website ingredients. When someone orders up, we gather what we need, then brew, mix, shake, and froth a custom cup of awesome. If an order requires something that's not on the shelf, we can always code new elements for an additional fee.

We've perfected this process to the point where we can write, design, and launch a full website in a single day. What started as a dare among our team turned into a real business solution that has benefited many companies.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A WEBSITE-IN-A-DAY EXPERIENCE?

As the name suggests, this immersive experience requires you to spend a full, dedicated business day with our team. Ideally, you'd come to our studio in Fayetteville, Arkansas. If you live within a three-hour drive, we can always come to you. There's also a virtual option if you can't travel or live farther away.

Before the big day, we ask you to fill out a quick questionnaire and send over any branding items you have such as your URL, logo files, photos, and descriptions of your services and business. If you don't have any of this, that's okay. We'll chat about a plan to tackle each item.

Once you arrive, we'll go through the agenda, map out the pages of your site, talk through the content, and decide on a visual direction in terms of colors, fonts, and overall design. At this point, a few team members will disperse to start working on their portion of the site while we treat you to coffee, lunch, snacks, training on our framework, marketing tips, and great conversation along the way. We even have video games if that's your thing.

We've built in several "approval" points throughout the day that will allow you to see progress and weigh in with your thoughts. Before you know it, we'll be ready to launch your site, complete with fanfare and champagne!

Our team makes it simple, fun, and affordable to have a completely professional and custom website. The cost for a Modular Orange site is only $95/month and payments start from the time of your launch. Sound like something you'd like to try? Fill out this form or call us at 479.755.3043. We'd love to get you on the schedule and give you a better online presence.
